Funun Arts featured 15 artists for their latest art exhibition which deals with the theme of ‘Devotion’
The UAE based art group Funun Arts along with Pullman Hotel, Sharjah, organized an art exhibition where 15 artists from different nationalities showcased their works depicting devotion. Titled ‘Devotion’, the exhibition was inaugurated in the lobby of Pullman Hotel, Sharjah, which is the first such event to be held in the hotel. The exhibition touched themes such as, Islamic calligraphy, Mosques, Islamic architecture, Prayer, Sacrifice and Love. All the artists has a unique approach to these themes.
‘Devotion’ was inaugurated by Ahmed Hiloz, Fadi Musharafie, Manager of Pullman Hotel and Ahmed Al Awadhi.
Ahmed Hiloz is one of the most popular artists from Jordan and also a Founder member of Emirates Fine Art Society and Banoosh group. He is a renowned sculptor and the face of the Arab Cultural Society, Sharjah.
Mr Hiloz, congratulated Funun Art founders Shiba Khan and Farah Khan for their work in the field of art and culture. He said, Sharjah is the Islamic capital and this is the most suitable theme to be exhibited at the time of the festive season. “We can see a variety of works and the expressive ways of artists through their paintings. Each artwork narrates a story that is well explained by artists and felt by the viewer,” he said.
Ahmed Al Awadhi, a pioneer in the field of art is popularly known as Rukni . He was the guest of honour. Rukni said, “It is an honour to be here as a guest of honour and see the beautiful artwork and artists from diverse nationalities coming together to showcase one theme with different perspectives.” His artwork was also part of the exhibition. “As an artist, it is my duty to showcase my country, its architecture and represent where I come from,” said Rukni who received the lifetime achievement award by Funun Arts for his contribution and support.
Fadi Musharafie pointed out that he is glad to host art exhibition along with Funun arts. “As Pullman Hotel represents art, this is the best way to celebrate Eid Ul Adha and create an artistic ambience for our guests. We are looking forward to doing more such events in future,” he said. Shiba Khan expressed her gratitude to Mr Abdul Mohsen Alhammadi, Chairman and CEO of the Pullan Hotel and Anne Dayauon, Cluster Marketing Executive for making the event possible. Funun Arts has also extended their heartiest thanks to Ms Sonia Majeed who sent across her wishes despite not being able to attend the event. Ms Majeed is an aspiring Professional singer and the first Asian female to sing the UAE National Anthem. She is a global Good will Ambassador, Messenger of Hummanity and winner of international peace award.
Shiba Khan, artist and founder of Funun arts also exhibited one of her artwork from her series ‘Women’. The artwork shows a woman praying. Shiba says “Women are like thread, who keeps all the beads together with the power of her prayers”, and added, “Behind every successful woman there is a woman and for me it is my mother.” Talking about art she said “I put expressions in my abstract style. Through my painting, I try to showcase different aspects of life.”
Farah Khan, a photographer, food blogger, creative designer and co-founder of Funun arts also exhibited her photograph. Her favourite subjects are old architecture, mosques, doors and nature. “Art influences society by changing opinions, instilling values, and translating experiences across space and time. Art in this sense is communication, it allows people from different cultures and different times to communicate with each other via images, sounds, and stories. And each of my clicks narrates a story,” said Farah, who also displayed a photograph of a mosque captured by her.
Artist Doods Capiral from the Philippines reflected his interest in travel, culture and people through his works. His highest goal is to bring light, warmth and inspires others to embrace who they are. Artist Imran Manzoor from Pakistan excels in his style of painting. An award-winning artist, Imran said ” For me, art is the best way to express and I love to do Islamic calligraphy.”
Tatiana Yatlo, another participating artist from Ukraine expresses feminism, their beauty, emotions and character. Kiran Salunke, an Indian artist showcased his paintings which expresses aesthetic love and devotion. Zahida Muhammad, a Pakistani artist showcased her artwork for the first time where she presented cursive calligraphy with different fonts and 3D style.
Artist Sehrish Fatima’s paintings were inspired by her life experiences and colours. Her distinctive style evokes joy and peace.
Sahar Shahid and Yasmin Naeem showcased their Islamic calligraphy. Both of them have different styles and gives the message of love and devotion through art.
Besides these artists, Payal Sharma, Jyoti Sachin and Kashish who is the youngest artist also exhibited their work. They said they were glad to be a part of this exhibition and that these type of platforms were needed for emerging artists.
Funun arts has not lmited themselves to events or art exhibitions, but they are using art to express in the best way. Every project is setting a milestone in the art fraternity. Art with a vision and an intentional analysis. It is an artistic or creative cultural practice that may operate in traditional or non-traditional mediums, modes, or disciplines.
