Elkin Robinson, who hails from Colombia’s Providencia Island, brought the sights and sounds of the Colombian Caribbean region to Expo 2020 Dubai, as he played an atmospheric set at Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre on Saturday evening.
Elkin Robinson introduced his sound to the audience as ‘Caribbean folk’, and played a sunshine-packed mix of reggae, calypso and country, to a visual backdrop of enticing images of the glistening azure sea and coastal life.
The band added skiffle vibes to the music, with instruments such as a horse jawbone percussion and an upcycled ‘double bass’ from a metal drum.
