North Korea: North Korea has finally invaded the fortress of Omicron. As the world has been fighting the Covid 19 pandemic for the past two years, North Korea has been busy modernising its troops and testing ballistic missiles.
North Korea’s so-called Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un has even said that North Korea has not recorded a single case of Covid-19 in the last two years.
As of Monday, over 50 people died, over 564,860 are under medical treatment, and at least 1,213,550 cases of ‘fever’ were reported.
North Korea’s fight against COVID has taken some setbacks as many factors indicate it will be an uphill battle (or as the world might imagine) before responding.

North Korea’s Covid fight faces quite a few setbacks as before mounting a response, several factors indicate that this will be an uphill battle (or as the world may think).
One new development needs to be mentioned – the outbreak is large enough that the Kim Jong Un regime is forced to open up about it.
Also, Rodong Simun, the Workers’ Party organ, said that the government is taking steps to address the public health emergency.
Firstly, Omicron will not be mild for North Korea. If reports are to be believed, then Omicron may be the first Covid variant to infect the population – which does not have immunity developed through past infections.
The other challenge it faces is that it cannot conduct mass testing, unlike China.
