Mansa (India): On Sunday, Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala were shot dead in a firing incident at Jawaharke in Mansa district.
One of the two seriously injured people, along with Moose Wala, died in the firing. The attackers fired 30 rounds. Moose Wala was taken to the Civil Hospital in Mansa in critical condition, where he was declared dead.
A three-member SIT, including SP probe Mansa and Bathinda and CIA in-charge Mansa, has been constituted to probe Musewala’s murder.
The incident came a day after the Punjab Police ordered the withdrawal of their security along with over 420 people, including former MLAs, two Takht Jathedar, dera chiefs and police officers.
However, Mansa SSP Gaurav Tora said that Moose Wala had four police personnel for security, and only two gunmen were temporarily withdrawn. He further noted that Moose Wala did not take the other two shooters who were with him at the incident.
The 29-year-old singer had joined the Congress in December last year and unsuccessfully contested the 2022 Punjab elections from Mansa district on a Congress ticket.
