The US consulate office in Hyderabad was established in 2009. It was the first US diplomatic office to open in India after 1947.
Currently, it is located at Paigah Palace, Chiran Fort Lane, Begumpet.
The consular district of Hyderabad covers three states. They are the following:
1.Telangana
2. Andhra Pradesh
3. Odisha
Sir Vicar-ul-Umra, a noble Paigah, built the historic building. The palace, which spreads over four acres of land, is a two-storey building.
The Paigah family, known as the leading palace builders in Hyderabad, were next to the family of the Nizams in the hierarchy of nobles in Hyderabad.
