UAE welcomes Art from around the globe

BIJOY: A group art exhibition

“Tolerance is the basis of building and linking societies, in addition to disseminating values of peace and coexistence. Furthermore, the UAE society is righteous, tolerant and keen on humanitarian traditions and values.” “The leadership, government and the people of the UAE are inspired by Sheikh Zayed’s legacy, thoughts, and firm approach to make the UAE an oasis of tolerance, pluralism and diversity, where people can live in an environment of acceptance, respect, and harmony.”

With the motive of setting up an equal platform for all, Funun Arts group of UAE, which is the most vibrant community of art galleries, visual arts, designers, photographers, and creative brains, came up with the unique art exhibition “BIJOY,” which means victory along with the Mahfuz Canvas, most active group from Bangladesh at Dubai International Art Center (DIAC), Dubai, UAE from December 12 to 21, 2022. This event is sponsored by PowerPac (a concern of Sikder Group), one of the largest business conglomerates based in Bangladesh and has more than 70 business ventures around the globe.

80 paintings from 80 will be part of this mega overseas international art exhibition to celebrate and pay tribute to the 51st Victory Day of Bangladesh. 55 artists from Bangladesh and artists from 20 diverse nationalities will be their work depicting that art is beyond borders and artists are always at the forefront to be part of the celebration.  This Victory of Bangladesh came on 16th December 1971 under the prudent leadership of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

His Excellency Suhail Mohammad Al Zarooni, an Emirate, well-established renowned business personnel, Guinness World Record holder, the Consul General of Bangladesh in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, His Excellency B.M. Jamal Hossain, will inaugurate this mega art event. Mr Rick Haque Sikder, Mr Ron Haque Sikder, HE Muayad Kafesha, along with many other dignitaries, will be there for the inaugural ceremony of this unique mega event.

Title sponsor of this event – The Managing Director of PowerPac Mr Ron Haque Sikder, stated this is a prestigious event to sponsor to show their tribute to the Victory of Bangladesh, and this will be the pride for the nation arranging such significant overseas art event showing the culture of Bangladesh through the artist canvases. Mr Ron also added this exhibition with a specific focus on encouraging artists to improve their creations by giving them a global platform and encouraging them to honour other cultures of Bangladesh and their histories through their artworks.

Shiba Khan and Farah Khan – founders of Funun Arts, mentioned this is the largest overseas art show by Bangladeshi artists in Dubai and organizing this event it’s a source of pride for them. Ms Shiba and Farah also added we aim to represent art & bring talents to light. “If four things are followed – having a great aim, acquiring knowledge, hard work, and perseverance – then anything can be achieved.” We aim to bring the whole community on one platform; for this, art is the best way as it is beyond boundaries.

Funun Arts are a vibrant community. This is an essential platform for emerging artists, cultural practitioners, creative entrepreneurs, and homegrown initiatives. It is a platform where artists are allowed to exhibit their talents in a space that is affordable and allows them the freedom to enhance their creativity. Funun Arts Group exhibits both locally and internationally, collaborating with galleries and participating in international art fairs along with doing several shows in UAE. Now more than five hundred multinational artists are part of this art community. Funun Arts is a one-stop solution which creates a bridge between artists, art collectors, art enthusiasts, architects, and interior designers.

For Mahfuz Canvas, “BIJOY” will be the largest overseas art exhibition. Mahfuzur Rahman – the founder of Mahfuz Canvas, has said that they view this endeavour as their most outstanding international achievement to yet, and this is the largest overseas self-taught Bangladeshi artist’s art exhibition yet. He also thanked “The Consulate General of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh, Dubai, UAE” and PowerPac, the title sponsor of the event for their extending support towards this event.

“It can be best-quoted Art inspires us the concept of unity and tolerance and see ourselves as the party of a bigger universe.”
