On Monday, Meta announced the release of a Chat Lock feature for WhatsApp.
This feature enables users to place selected chats in a private folder that can only open through a password or biometric authentication.
Meta has launched the Chat Lock feature for WhatsApp worldwide.
This feature allows users to hide individual and group chats in a protected folder while ensuring user privacy by not displaying message previews in notifications for locked chats.
To lock a WhatsApp chat, users must tap the name of the sender or group before selecting the lock option.
To make these chats visible, users can pull down the inbox. And reveal the folder of locked chats before unlocking them again with a password or biometric.
Meta said it planned to add more Chat Lock options, such as locking chats on other devices.
And custom passwords that would not be the same as the smartphone password.
